Ongoing Relationship ManagementPrincipals of Cymric Family Office Services provides as much personal contact with their clients as each family member desires. At a minimum, we conduct quarterly family meetings. We tailor each agenda to the family’s interests and needs at the time. Typically, we will review changes to the family’s objectives, cash flow analysis, status of financial condition, investment strategy and performance, insurance coverage and needs, tax issues, estate planning changes, charitable giving, as well as operating business issues such as strategic planning or succession planning. Additional meetings are conducted with family members when particular issues arise or when either side believes there is a need. Investment Management OverviewThe Cymric investment philosophy is to help each family member define his or her investment goals, taking into consideration cash requirements and tolerance for risk as well as short term and long term investment expectations. We factor in personal assets and operating businesses. We believe asset allocation is important and use sophisticated software to help analyze the after-tax outcomes of various asset allocation alternatives. Under Cymric’s guidance, the family establishes an investment policy that is reviewed regularly and tactically changed as necessary. Asset AllocationThe development of an appropriate asset allocation for each client is an important component of Cymric’s client service. We are not market timers and believe that diversification is necessary for good long term returns. To achieve the objectives that have been defined in conjunction with the family member, we focus on their cash-flow needs, risk tolerance, tax considerations, and time horizons to achieve the defined after tax objective. We use asset allocation software to present the client with various options. Once a strategy is established, it is only tactically changed on a short term basis and strategically changed as external events change. This particular asset allocation is not recommended, it is only meant to demonstrate some of the variables that are considered in determining a proper asset allocation and the reporting that can be generated to communicate the strategy. Manager SelectionManager searches are conducted on an as-needed basis for each individual client, and Cymric continually researches the market place for talented managers. Manager selection is important, but not more important than asset allocation. Performance Monitoring/ReviewWe perform quarterly performance measurement against peers and indexes. Monthly reporting is required of all managers and performance is calculated on an annual basis.
